PN Driver is a development kit that allows the users to create their in-house PROFINET controller and device solutions.
The sample programs provided with PN Driver use the IO-Base API and offer console based interactive sample applications for different platforms.
PN Driver internal components to be used at runtime and their settings are configured during the compilation based on the target platform as well as functionality and performance requirement. Each such configuration is called a PN Driver implementation throughout this document.
While PN Driver is delivered with sample implementations for various hardware and software platforms, the users also have the option of porting PN Driver to another platform.
