Description
The transition from the Common Connector Configurator to the Common Configurator is carefully designed to ensure a seamless experience without any significant difficulties. By mapping the configurations and settings from the Common Connector Configurator to the Common Configurator, the migration process facilitates a smooth transfer of existing setups to the new UI. Moreover, the migration also encompasses the transfer of associated data, guaranteeing that all relevant information is successfully moved to the Common Configurator.
Recommended upgrade sequence
- Upgrade Common Connector Configurator to version 1.9.0-1 or above.
- Upgrade Connector application to version 2.0.0 or above.
App versions supporting the migration
If you are currently using version 1.8.1-x of the runtime application, you are able to seamlessly migrate to version 2.0.0 or above without any loss of data. However, if you are using versions V1.7.x or earlier, you need to first migrate to V1.8.1-x and then proceed with the migration to V2.0.0 or above.
Migration from previous versions to V1.8.1-x
IED supported
It supports only edge device IPC 427E and higher models.
Loss of data
Contact your Support Team if you are using V1.7 or earlier versions of S7 Connector and want to update to V1.8.1-x.
Since no automatic migration of data takes place, data loss may occur.
Do not omit any version
We recommend that you avoid omitting any version of the S7 Connector during migration. This ensures that all data is automatically migrated as well.
V1.1 > V1.2 > V1.3 > V1.4 > V1.5 > V1.6 > V1.7 > V1.8.1-x
If you are using V1.7 or earlier versions of S7 Connector, a data backup must be created before the update and restored after the update.
If you are using V1.8.1-x of S7 Connector, an automatic data backup takes place.
