Prerequisites

• Common Import Converter is installed on the IED.
• A TIA Portal project with configured PLCs and tags is available.
• The connections to the desired PLCs have been configured in the Common Configurator.
  If a PLC has more than one Ethernet interface, the import includes all IP addresses. Before proceeding, delete the addresses you do not need.

There are two types of tags available:

• PLC tag
• Data block tag

Procedure to export PLC tag

To export the PLC tag .xml file from the TIA Portal project, follow these steps:

1. Compile the TIA Portal project.
2. Navigate to Desired PLC > PLC tags > Show all tags.
   PLC tags page appears.
   
3. Right-click and select Export file.
   Export window appears.
   
4. Choose the path for the export file.
5. Select .xml as the file type.
6. Click Save.
7. Click Ok in export window.
   The file exported to the selected path.

Procedure to export Data block tag

To export the Data block tag .xml file from the TIA Portal project, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Desired PLC > Device configuration.

2. Select the PLC
   

   NOTE

   The advanced PLC can function both as an OPC UA server and as an S7 Connector. However, classic PLCs only support S7 Connector functionality.

3. Select OPC UA > Export in the General tab window.
   Export OPC UA XML file page appears.
   

4. Click Export OPC UA XML file.
   A window appears to select the export path.
   
5. Choose the path and click Save.
   The .xml file is exported to the selected path.
