After the installation of the SIMATIC S7 Connector and additionally required apps on the IED, you can configure the connections to the CPUs. Configuring the SIMATIC S7 Connector ensures that your data is collected and transferred securely and reliably.
Configurations can be done using two ways:
- Common Connector Configurator
This is the conventional method of configuring connector applications. It configuring the applications directly within the IEM. In this approach, each application required a separate user interface in the IEM for its configuration. Also, this process can be time-consuming when compared to the more advanced Common Configurator. -
Common Configurator
The Common Configurator is the best way to generate value from your data. It provides a user-friendly interface that works seamlessly with all your connector applications. It is designed to be adaptable and open, making it simple to integrate future technologies. It incorporates the most up-to-date technology and architecture, catering to a wide range of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications.NOTE
This configuration is compatible only with version 1.8.0 or later of Common Configurator.
NOTE
You must follow any one configuration method, either Common Connector Configurator or Common Configurator.
