We use the following terms and names in this guide:
Field of view (FOV): The view that the Siemens Inspekto VIS system camera can capture.
SIEMENS Inspekto VIS System: The Autonomous Machine Vision System that you are about to install and set up.
Part: The object, item, or product that is going to be inspected.
Smart light: the supplied illumination unit.
Inspekto System Controller: a Siemens IPC BX39A or BX59A computing system that controls all of the Siemens Inspekto VIS system components, runs the inspection process, and communicates with the production line PLC.
The Siemens Inspekto VIS System is not a deterministic system. While the system is designed to provide accurate results, some mistakes may occasionally occur. As such, it is not recommended to use the Siemens Inspekto VIS System in high-risk environments where the consequences of errors could be severe.
