After image optimization is completed, the SIEMENS Inspekto VIS system selects a recommended imaging mode.

You can change the recommended mode of the SIEMENS Inspekto VIS system by clicking the camera icon at the bottom of the screen to open the “Select Imaging Mode” screen:

In this screen, the SIEMENS Inspekto VIS system displays the inspected part in all available imaging modes.

The available imaging modes are:

  • HDR

  • Anti-Reflection 2+2: Using this mode, the SIEMENS Inspekto VIS system is able to remove reflections by alternating the 4 lighting segments 2 segments at a time.

  • Anti-Reflection 1+1: Using this mode, the SIEMENS Inspekto VIS system is able to remove reflections by alternating the 4 lighting segments 1 segment at a time. This mode is more suitable better for cylindrical, reflective objects.

  • Fast: In this mode, the SIEMENS Inspekto VIS system uses a single image. This mode is ideal for short inspection cycles.

  • Manual Mode: This is an advanced mode that allows you to define a basic imaging mode (from the list above) and set parameters such as exposure, iris, gain etc.

Click the “Visibility Test” button to position a bad part in the field of view and capture another image. This allows you to verify that the defects are visible in an image generated with the selected imaging mode.

  • After capturing the test image, you can toggle between the original sample image and the newly created test image to verify that the differences are visible. Do this by clicking the “Sample” and “Test” buttons individually or by clicking the
    toggle button.

  • When you have selected the desired imaging mode, click the “Save” button in the upper right corner of the screen to save and return to the Profile Setup screen.

  • In addition, you can now check your part marking to make sure it is what you want. You must do this because the image parameters are now optimal, and more information may be visible as a result.

  • After checking marking and adjusting it, if necessary, click “Next” button to proceed to the “Add Samples” step.
