You can add tags to an existing data source in the Tags tab.

Requirement

  • Connector for IEC 60870-5-104 is running.
  • A data source must be created. For more information, refer Add data sources.

Procedure

  1. Open the Get Data tab.
    The available connectors are shown.
  2. Click the Connector for IEC 60870-5-104 tile.
    The Overview page opens.
  3. Select the data source that you want to add tags from the list.

  4. Open the Tags tab.
  5. Click Add tag.
    The Add Tag page is displayed.

  6. Enter the following information:

    Field name Description
    Name Defines the name of a tag.
    The name must be unique in the data source.
    Common address Defines the identification of the end station. The common address of the ASDU combined with the information object address contained within the data itself creates the unique address for each data element.
    For more information about data transmission mode, refer Supported data transmission mode(#data-transmission-modes-supported-by-the-connector-for-iec-60870-5-104).
    Information object type Defines the unique type identification for different type of data.
    For more information about data transmission mode, refer Supported data transmission mode.
    Sub-type Defines the return value type of the read operation or parameter of write operation.
    For more information about data types, refer Supported data types.
    Address Defines the address of the tag.
    Comments Defines comments for the tag.
    Acquisition cycle Defines the acquisition cycle for sending the data. The following options are available:
    • None
    • 100 milliseconds
    • 250 milliseconds
    • 500 milliseconds
    • 1 second
    • 2 seconds
    • 5 seconds
    • 10 seconds

    Typically, a ‘1 second’ acquisition cycle is used.
  7. Click Save.
    The tag is added to the data table.

  8. Repeat steps 5 - 7 for more tags.

Result

Tags are added to the data source.
