• Open TIA Portal
• Create a new project
• In the project tree:
  • select "Add new device"
  • add the 1500 PLC according to the hardware available, at least with firmware version 2.9.

  • follow the wizard "PLC Security Settings" to protect the PLC.
    For a first and fast evaluation of SIMATIC AX you can disable all settings.

    Disabling all security settings is not recommended as it can expose your systems to various cyber risks and potential production loss. It is crucial to prioritize the security of your SIMATIC PLC to ensure a productive and safe environment !

    Follow steps in the wizard to protect your PLC appropriate. * Select the PLC in the "Device configuration" and press the Download to device button * Select the "Type of the PG/PC interface" and * the "Connection to interface/subnet" according to the local setup
    * Press the "Start Search" button * Select the PLC to which to download * In the load preview window, check the settings and press the "Load" button
