- No other client may be connected to the PLC during hardware downloads or when resetting the PLC.
- It is possible for all passwords to be passed directly in the command line in clear text as arguments, but this is not secure.
If you just use the flag without a value (--password or --masterPassword), a secure prompt will appear so that you can enter the password securely. - Provide the master password (--masterPassword) for the initial download to a PLC with FW V2.9 or above or when changing certificates (if the password is defined). For details see certificate handling.
- If you change an IP address, you must manually configure all the network masks used on your local network adapter or the connection will be lost while reconnecting to the new IP mask.
- If there is an IP address change and a change of downloaded certificates together in the same configuration, reset the PLC first or the download will be incomplete and will therefore fail.
- If there is an IP address change in the configuration during an initial download, there will be a reconnect step to conclude the download. This will involve inserting the authentication data for the PLC with parameters --certificate and --password. If there is a mistake, the download will be only partially successful and will have to be repeated with the correct settings and the new IP address.
