PROFINET DCP is a Layer 2 (Ethernet Link Layer) protocol. This means that DCP traffic cannot be routed and you are limited to the one segment of the network to which you are connected.
To use DCP Utility with PLCSim instances, PLCSim needs to be switched to PLCSIM Virtual Ethernet Adapter and bridged to the physical (linked) network.
DCP Utility currently supports the following services:
- Identify All (discover)
- Set Signal/Flash (blink)
- Set IP address
- Set Name
