  1. Press F1 to open the command palette.
  2. Type Download and select the RemotePLC: Download Hardware to remote PLC command.
  3. Select the target PLC.
  4. Choose the folder containing the binaries to download.
  5. Accept the security disclaimer.
  6. If this is your first download in the workspace:
  7. Choose whether to restart the PLC after the download.
  8. You can change this setting later via File → Preferences → Settings by searching for download restart.
  9. Enter the legitimation credentials for the PLC, or leave blank if not required:
  10. If the PLC is not protected by User Management Configuration, leave the user-name field empty and press Enter.
  11. If your PLCs are not password-protected, you can disable this step by setting ax.download.askForLegitimationPassword to false.
  12. Enter the master password to modify security-related settings, or leave blank if not required.

Note

Download of hardware configuration via PLC Explorer and Agent is currently only possible if you have the correct certificate for the PLC configured in the agent. If the certificates do not match the download fails. The possibility to confirm the certificate missmatch and download anyway is not possible.

After changing the certificate on a PLC, you have to delete the PLC from the agent configuration and add a new PLC with the new certificate.

WARNING

Please note that the download automatically cancels all Monitor jobs running on the PLC.
