In the local IDE, the panel keeps a connection to the PLC open and continues to retrieve the latest diagnostic buffer entries for so long as it remains open.
The connection indicator displays the current connection state and will show if communication with the PLC has been lost. 
Note
Data updates are subscription-based and not related to PLC cycle time. Every new diagnostic buffer entry generated on the PLC is also populated on the panel.
