This chapter will explain the connection update and its potential states.
Upgrade target connection
All accessible targets that haven't been upgraded yet and meet the compatibility requirements are listed on the "Target Overview" page under the "Not connected" section. Each target has a button that can initiate the connection upgrade.
It is also possible to upgrade the connection for all targets at once using the "Upgrade all" button. This button may be disabled if one or more target upgrades are already in progress.

Once the upgrade is initiated, the action needs to be processed, which may take some time depending on various conditions (e.g., network conditions). After the action is processed, the direct connection becomes active, which is indicated by a status indicator that changes based on the connection state.
If the target appears under the "Connection via IEM" section, the upgrade button will not be available. This indicates that the compatibility requirements are not met (note that the connection can only be upgraded with AI Inference Server version 2.0.0 or above).
Disconnect direct connection
If the direct connection is working properly, your target will appear in the "Direct connection" section, with the indicator shown as a green badge. In this case, the "Disconnect direct connection" button in the context dropdown menu is always enabled.

Fix direct connection
It may happen that a problem occurs after the direct connection is active. In such cases, a new "Fix connection" button will appear next to the direct connection indicator.
If no fatal error is present, the connection will be restored once the "Fix connection" process is initiated. However, if the connection cannot be fixed, the "Disconnect direct connection" button becomes enabled.
Disconnection cannot be initiated until the "Fix connection" process has been at least started to resolve the issue.
