The Alert Configuration menu consists of two pages:
Alerts
Notification channels
On the pages the already configured alert rules and notification channels are listed, respectively. Alert rules are expressions that are tested and evaluated against incoming metric data. Once an expression evaluates to true, an alert is triggered. Users get notified about the triggered alerts via the notification channels they configure and link to the defined alert rules.
Create alert rule
From the empty "Alerts" page navigate to the "Create new alert" page by click the "Create new alert" button.
Create a new alert by providing the necessary configurations prompted by the form.
Name: the name of the alert based on which you can identify the configured alert later
Description: an optional configuration that allows adding explanatory details to the alert rule
Target(s): list of edge devices from which metric data is being forwarded to AI Asset Manager. Select the devices from which data should be monitored for potential alerts.
Pre-defined and Custom options: radio buttons that allow you to select if you wish to create a simplified alert rule expression or a more complex custom one where you can define the expression in freely editable text area
Metric type: list of metric names forwarded from the previously selected target devices
Condition: list of relational symbols
Value: value of the metric in the expression
Value and Unit: a period of time until which the defined expression should hold true before an alert is triggered
Notification channels: list of configured notification channels. Once an alert is triggered, a notification is sent out via the selected channels
When all necessary fields are filled, you can click on the "Create alert" button to save your configurations. Alert rules cannot be created unless a notification channel is configured and added set to the alert rule. For more information, refer to the Notification channels page.
Handle alert rules
Configured details of the created alerts are displayed on the "Alerts" page. Modify or delete existing alerts by clicking on the "pen" or "bin" icon of the alert rule.
