Adding a camera

In addition to industrial cameras and cameras that use the RTSP protocol, you can add a "Simulated camera". It simulates a real camera with static images for pipeline testing purposes.

Note:

Before you add a camera, you must use the manufacturer-specific software of the camera to assign a static IP address. To avoid connection problems, the IP address should belong to the same IP subnet that is configured in the Layer 2 network. Depending on the application, additional parameter/recording settings (resolution, image format, etc.) can also be preconfigured using the manufacturer-specific software.

To add a camera to the Vision Connector, follow these steps:

  1. Click on .

The "Add new camera" dialog opens.

  2. Enter a name for the new camera.

  3. Select the camera type: industrial_camera, rtsp or simulated_camera.

  4. Enter the information required for this type.

  5. Click "Add".

The new camera is shown in the "Camera Grid" view. Click on the camera and edit its parameters in the "Camera Stream" view.

  6. Enable the new camera in the "Camera Stream" view.
